Andrew Lawrence, founder of ECKSTEEN has been working in the people business since 1999 where he started as a recruiter at the prestigeous Harvey Nash staffing freelancers in IT with a strong focus on Finance and Logistics.
From the outset, Andrew recognized a profound shift in workforce motivations and needs, highlighting the imperative for HR to embrace a more candidate-centric approach. As the next generation of employees increasingly values purpose and immediate impact, he remains dedicated to transforming HR into a service-minded function that truly empowers individuals and organizations alike.
Andrew learned first-hand during the financial crisis of 2008 how a purpose-driven HR Strategy creates real value, helping organizations attract and retain top talent. He saw that for HR to truly influence the profitability and future of a company, it must become agile, service-driven, and transparent. HR’s role extends beyond traditional tasks—it must lead with purpose, adaptability, and open communication to foster environments where employees feel engaged and connected.
Since 2019, Andrew has worked as a consultant and coach, supporting companies in defining their core purpose and crafting meaningful employer brands.
